I have been going to sterling optical for years. All four members of my family wear glasses or contacts. About 6 months ago I purchased 2 pair of glasses for the Ithaca New York location. The sales staff misled/lied to me that the glasses come with a year warranty on frame breakage. Well they broke and when I tried to have them repaired/replaced I was told I did not in fact have warranty coverage and the entire staff at the time that I made my purchase has since been fired for "reason". After being told that they would honor my groupon over the phone, the manager at the Brookfield, WI store refused to honor my Groupon because I have insurance for a small portion of my glasses purchase. Sterling optical in Farmington New York has the worst customer service i have ever witnessed. I went for new contacts and after my exam they tried telling me that i would have to pay 200 dollars more then what they said when i called. Using my union insurance, I got a pair of glasses with bells & whistles for which I paid a few hundred dollars over and above the coverage, believing I'd have them for a few years. I was told I needed glasses before I could start a job. Could get in at Sterling Optical the soonest--the next day. They told me my glasses would be ready by Thursday.
