The woman was extremely rude. She offered me no advise or help excepting to buy another frame. it wasn't her problem. I took in my own script from my Doctor and I am going through medicade, at 74 all I have is my Social Security. I took the glasses but they need to be put into another frame. I could have overlooked all of this but not the rudeness I didn't deserve that I was very polite to her. I have two other frames that I can offer for use... Read more

Where to start? My family has been with Sterling for years despite the rude receptionists and phone calls not being returned to make appointments. I like and trust the Dr.'s and the selection of eyeglasses. This time I decided to get my eye exam for contacts even though i usually go to America's Best for them. I have been a patient of sterling optical in the bay shore ny mall location for many years. Always going to them for eyeglasses and contacts bcause they take my insurance coverage. I have moved to florida and am on a fixed disability payment after falling at work and seriously injuring myself and having surgery. I have been going to sterling optical for years. All four members of my family wear glasses or contacts. The last time I went to them my PD was measured incorrectly resulting in lenses that made me dizzy, caused headaches and made me nauseous. I returned to the store three times to have them adjusted (not knowing anything about PD) each time I went, I was told that there was nothing wrong with the lenses and that I would adjust. About 6 months ago I purchased 2 pair of glasses for the Ithaca New York location. The sales staff misled/lied to me that the glasses come with a year warranty on frame breakage. Well they broke and when I tried to have them repaired/replaced I was told I did not in fact have warranty coverage and the entire staff at the time that I made my purchase has since been fired for "reason". After being told that they would honor my groupon over the phone, the manager at the Brookfield, WI store refused to honor my Groupon because I have insurance for a small portion of my glasses purchase. He claimed that the Groupon was not good with any other "offer". Insurance isn't an "offer" because insurance will reimburse the provider! Sterling optical in Farmington New York has the worst customer service i have ever witnessed. I went for new contacts and after my exam they tried telling me that i would have to pay 200 dollars more then what they said when i called. Using my union insurance, I got a pair of glasses with bells & whistles for which I paid a few hundred dollars over and above the coverage, believing I'd have them for a few years. Immediately, the glasses cracked. The store replaced the lenses but the glasses cracked again soon after they were replaced and it was either pay hundreds to get new ones or do without.
